Rua Hills takes shape as a new community
Rua Hills continues to make exciting progress, with major milestones bringing us closer to realising our vision for a connected, family-focused neighbourhood in NorthWest Auckland.
Construction of the purpose-built Te Pae School is now complete, with the school set to welcome its first families at the start of the 2027 academic year. This marks an important step in establishing the community, bringing quality education closer to home for local families.
Access to Rua Hills has also improved, with Rua Hills Parade, off Fred Taylor Drive, receiving Auckland Transport approval and now open to the public.
Stage 1 development on track
Construction across our Stage 1 residential development has continued steadily throughout winter, with works remaining on track for completion in December 2026.
Roads have now been hot mixed, and shared walking and cycling paths are complete, creating the foundations for a well-connected neighbourhood. Work is progressing on five pedestrian bridges, while streetlights are being installed throughout the development.
Enhancement planting is also underway across the extensive stream network, helping to restore the natural environment and strengthen the connection between the neighbourhood and its surrounding green spaces.

Planning for future neighbourhood amenities
Alongside progress on the residential development, planning is continuing for the amenities that will help shape everyday life at Rua Hills.
A resource consent application has been lodged with Auckland Council for a new neighbourhood café, while designs for a new playground and early childhood centre continue to advance. These future additions will further support Rua Hills’ vision for a welcoming, family-friendly community with places to gather, play and connect.
